Is it a full length dress?
Accessorize with cute/fun/summery jewelry (i.e. beads, matching earrings)... also go with a more casual handbag. You can wear a pair of pink sandals (if you want to look sweet and cute), or otherwise gold or silver will also be great with a white summer dress.
If it's more of a cuter dress (i.e. flowing, babydoll), leave your hair down and maybe you want to try casual waves to make the dress more casual. If it's a more fitting/sleeker dress, try your hair half up.
There's lots you can do to accessorize a white dress and remember, it's acceptable to wear white dresses even if it's not your wedding - but that depends on the style of the dress as well as how you accessorize it.

Okay, considering the season, what the weather is like where you are, how tall you are, what your job is and what your age probably is, I'd have to say you should add in a nice, deep purple, short jacket and a thin sweater underneath for extra warmth if desired. For the legs, try mesh-made panty hose in black or dark brown! Preferably no designs on the panty hose, just a neutral bold color. Basically, just contrast with bold, neutral colors. For accesories, such as a bag, try a slick and rather small or medium sized (bold colored) bag and fine jewellery; nothing too bulky. As long as you stay modest (e.g. nothing too short, too high, too tight, too noisy-- bracelets clanging into each other-- too bright, etc), clean and pretty basic, you should be a-okay! Good luck and hope this helped! : )

A white dress doesn't have to look like a wedding dress. Just accessorize in a bright color and wear matching shoes.

Accessories! Like everyone above said something to add a splash of color to your dress. Maybe some fun colored flats or a bright scarf tied around your waist.

Well, I'm assuming it isn't long and flowing and studded with pearls and sequins, right? Just don't wear it with a veil and you should be able to get away with it. Add some chunky colorful pastel or bright bracelets or earrings or something to brighten it all up some, and don't wear white shoes with it.

I thought you weren't supposed to wear white after labor day?
Either way it's up to you. Accessorize with red always an eye catcher!

wear a short dress, and play around with accessories, but don't overdo it. perhaps long beaded necklaces or something.
or, if your dress is really short, you can pair it up with jeans to give it a smart casual look. =)
