I know that with my son the way that I kept track of ovulations was through cervical positioning and cervical mucus.

Before Ovulation (low chance of pregnancy):
The first few days following menstruation, there will be little or no discharge present. You will feel dryness around your vulva. During this time, chances of getting pregnant are low.

Approaching Ovulation (chance of pregnancy):
The first discharge that does appear should be moist or sticky and should be white or cream in color. In the finger test, the mucus should break easily. You will only be able to pull your fingers about 1 cm apart before it breaks. During this transition time, first the mucus will become cloudy and slightly stretchy during the finger test (this means that it will still break before the fingers are stretched all the way). As time progresses, the mucus will become greater in volume.

Right around ovulation (high chance of pregnancy):
At this stage, mucus resembles egg whites. It is the thinnest, clearest and most abundant at this point in the cycle. Finger testing will allow the mucus to stretch quite a ways (several centimeters) before it breaks (if it breaks at all). ) The amount of this thin mucus will steadily increase until you experience your 'mucus peak'. This is the last day of this period where the chance of conception is high. It is closely tied to ovulation. During this phase, the sperm's survival rate is higher. It can survive in cervical mucus for up to 72 hours, a significantly longer time than during the rest of the cycle.

After Ovulation (low chance of pregnancy):
After ovulation, there is a marked change in mucus appearance. It returns to the sticky stage (does not stretch during finger test) and there is again a feeling of dryness around the vulva.

I have something better than a website. go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! My husband and I tried for a year and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

I also use fertilityfriend.com. It's wonderful because I can still access my charts from when I conceived my daughter more than 2 years ago. I have the free membership too, not the VIP one. It has been very useful for me to go back and look at what worked and what didn't. Try to record as much as possible and make notes. Good luck!

Be very careful with sites. A lot of them are based on a 28 day cycle and a lot of women have shorter or longer cycles. Start tracking your cycles and opt for the web sites that you can enter how long your cycle is based on your own charting.

Hi,
There are ALOT of different web sites you can access but I have to say that my top 3 choice's would be....Gettingpregnant.com, Yourdays.com, and Fertilityfriend.com. They are all wonderfull sites! And for great reading get a book called...Taking Charge of your Fertility! By: Toni Weschler!! Also don't listen to the as* who say's we don't talk to our mother's and we can't figure it out! For me it is a nice place to keep track of your personal stuff that you just don't want sitting around in a drawer! And also every woman here is TTC and this is a great place to get answer's to our question's! Good luck to you both!!

Hello. I have found one website that was really helpful on ovulation cycles where you can chart and track your ovulation cycles.

www.babyzone.com

you are kidding aren't you? you mean you can't figure this for yourself? how embarassing.

-------------------------------------------------
thanks for sending me an inter-yahoo email with your abusive disrespectful words...knowing that ahead of time that you are not as nice as you say, I would not have responded to you.

But gee, kids usually learn to count when they are in gradeschool...you mean for a 28 day cycle (usual) you can't divide by 2 (equals 14 by the way) and then the 13th, 14th and 15th days would be your possible ovulation days.....and you need a website to figure that out? so why are you being mean to me? If you were married your husband would help you figure it out. If you're single then you don't need to even figure out when your ovulation date is. If you're a kid then you don't need to know that date either.

Oh, and by the way, take your temperature...when it's the 13, 14 or 15th day and your temp is the highest then have sex for good results. And please don't ask me where to place the termometer.

OK, after looking over the list of responses I can see that either a lot of people don't talk over personal things with their mothers, or their mothers haven't told them the facts of life. But gee folks, you really can figure this out without a computer, a calculator, etc.
