Has anyone read 'The Giver' by Lois Lowery??

In my reading class, we must write a different ending to the story. A sad or happy ending. If you could rewrite this story, how would you change the ending?? give me so good ideas here to help me with my paper. I'm running out of ideas.. thanks!

I read that book. Personally, if I could changed the ending I would make it sad. This book was not written to have a happy-ending. I would also make the ending more complete. I was really upset on how the book ended.
