Holy War is not a special war..actually every thing in a Muslim's life is done for God and when he fights he also fights for God..So the holy war is not like a crusade and a war against invaders to defend your home is a holy war..our leaders now are our presidents and kings just like your countries and our armies have the same duty like your armies..to defend our countries.
So what that man couldn't explain to you that killing non-Muslim is only justifiable if they were fighters in war against Muslims.

I didn't say our religious leaders but our political leaders and those are the ones controlling the army..others like Bin Laden are attracting young men to fight for Allah in Iraq and Afghanistans against the American invaders and also in Chechnya against the Russian invaders but those groups made a lot of mistakes like killing innocent people in 9/11 and 7/7.On the other side the political leaders lost the trust of their people now and the people have no real leadre because both sides are bad right now.

Some mullas will say it is holy war. Others will say it is not. There is no one leader to declare such a war nor there can be one due to the prescribed conditions of such an authority. So this all gets messed up. These often declaration of jehads is due to vested interest of mullas as well as due to their low education and complete unawareness about the international affairs. I am a muslim but of other type.

Do Muslims have a leader? Where have you been? As far as killing only non-believers...yeah...right....those chuckleheads are doing a real bang-up job aren't they.
Remember...you're talking about a bunch of ignorant tribesmen who follow the teaching of religious fanatics who manipulate the simpletons in the lower end of the class structure.
Ever wonder just what Muslim men are doing mobbing around in the streets all day and not working like other civilized countries? No wonder electricity and education are at a premium in these places.

there is no such thing as holy war in Islam, war is not holy,if you mean jihad which the translation of it would be effort,it is only allowed when your country is being attacked, like Iraq attacked Iran ,and in that situation the Muslims leader of that country could call for jihad,ONLY AGAINST PPL WHO WANT TO INVADE THE COUNTRY AND ONLY FOR SELF DEFENCE,AND ONLY AGAINST MILITARY ARMY NOT NORMAL PPL,other wise that would not be jihad and it won't be Islamic law.

a jihad can be announced by any islamic holy man if he so desires. however, if the holy man dosn't have any followers, not much happens. the scary holy wars are the ones initiated by big-name leaders like the ayatollah of iran, or the leader of al-qaeda.

I am not a Muslim but I think that they believe they are always in a holy war, and anything is allowed for the sake of their belief. Every religion believes that their creater is on their side.

Islamic teaching does not condone killing of innocents. If anyone is doing so he is doing it on his own accord. Muslims must not kill any women and childen, even in a war. In a battle field if anyone surrenders he should not be killed. That is the real teaching of Islam.

It is only acceptable to kill those who fight against them.

Its really just common sense, unlike Christianity, which is completely unfollowed by most so-called Christians, and their philosophy of "turn the other cheek".

Michael R, the president of Iran is not a religious leader. He's a president.
