Go Libertarian or Reform party. The Democrats and Republicans have become too corrupt. The Republicans pay off large corporations and the Democrats pay off the special interest groups. It is time to put an end to all greed and corruption. Time for these two parties to stop taking their party's interests first and the American people second or third!

As far as what they stand for I'll make it simple.
Libertarian-smaller federal government. More personal responsibility

Republican- Stay the course

Democrats- Bush sucks..we are not Bush

Some of my favorite quotes on that subject:

Conservative, n. - A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -- Ambrose Bierce

"When you looked at the Republicans you saw the scum off the top of business. When you looked at the Democrats you saw the scum off the top of politics. Personally, I prefer business. A businessman will steal from you directly instead of getting the IRS to do it for him. And when Republicans ruin the environment, destroy the supply of affordable housing, and wreck the industrial infrastructure, at least they make a buck off it. The Democrats just do these things for fun" -- P.J. O'Rourke

And of course that old Washington joke: How do you separate Democrats from Republicans in Washinton? With a crowbar.

Seriously, good question. This may help you decide. Good luck.

And remember -- no matter what you decide, YOUR JUDGEMENT should always be the ultimate decision maker. Trust no one or nothing as much as you trust your own mind.

You need to watch the pre-election debates between the candidates, not just pick because you think you are a republican..that is how we got into this mess in the first place. Do us all a favor, instead of researching what party you belong to research the cause, reasoning, plans and yes even linguistic skills of all candidates and base your decision on that.

Democrats love our country for what it does, Republicans love our country in spite of what it does. There are lots of different parties - I suggest Wikipedia as a starting place

As far as I can tell, it has denegrated to who signs your check for campaign spending. Pay attention to the candidates, what they have to say, and the issues at hand. Vote for the person or ideal that falls in line with your values and ideals. Those who will (or won't) vote for a person because of their party affiliation are also those who yell the loudest when things don't go the way they think they should.

One party does not respect human life, the other one does not either. I am not republican and I am not democrat, and i feel OK.

A democrat put a "Run Hillary Run" bumper sticker on the rear bumper. A Republican puts the same bumper sticker on the front bumper.

Republicans tend to be more conservative-meaning they are normally pro-life, against same-sex marriage-you get the point.
Democrats tend to be more liberal-meaning they are normally pro-choice, for same-sex marriage-you get the point.

I think there is another party. It's called the independent party or something like that...I think.

Democrats are for poor/middle-class.

Recently Repubs have proven to be manipulative in regards to gaining votes.
