Which ideal is that? The 'torture' ideal? whoops, that's not the Dems and not a historical American ideal.

Maybe the 'secret trial' ideal? Nope not Dems or American either.

The 'secret evidence' ideal? The secret 'disappeared' prisoners held on weak evidence ideal? None of them fit.

Maybe that's because these are all neocon Republican ideals that are absolutely abhorrent to American ideals.

Damn, dude. So angry.

Ideals I didn't turn my back on (perhaps you've heard of some of these):
The Constitution
The Geneva Convention
Democracy(vice dictatorship or theocracy)
Checks and Balances
accountability
oversight
punishing those who attack us, not everyone else in the area
providing timely assistance to those citizens who need it most (say, after a natural disaster)
reading PDBs
reading, in general
not referring to the leaders of other nations as "yo!"
actually serving one's nation, instead of putting on a uniform once and then disappearing into Alabama
not being a bunch of evil bastards
