I love the movies of Kevin Smith and can admit that some are better than others. Clerks and Chasing Amy are what I consider his best even though I like Mallrats, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob trike back nooch. I did'nt like jersey girl much but it just shows we should'nt grow up to fast where would we be without dick and fart jokes. I was watching Film 2005 last night and listened to Johnathan Ross review of Clerks 2(which I have'nt seen yet) and obviously he does'nt want Kevin Smith on his other show because he did not kiss his *** and **** on the mans entire work so I want get other peoples opinons

Genius!!!!!!
I love his movies. I'm not a huge fan of Mallrats but it is still funny. Chasing Amy is amazing and Dogma is so funny and it took balls to make that movie. (watch it with ultra religious people,it's great). Clerks was ingenius and I can't wait to see Clerks II!

My favorite Kevin Smith movie is Dogma. I love the satire, and I especially love Azrael and Jason Lee. Loki and Matt Damon always make me laugh. Always. Clerks is the first Kevin Smith movie I saw, and will forever hold a special place in my heart. Randal is probably my favorite Kevin Smith character. I used to watch Chasing Amy all the time. Again, I love Jason Lee's character, Brody. Kevin Smith really knows how to write for Jason.

I love Kevin Smith! I think his bests are Clerks, Clerks 2, and Dogma. Clerks 2 is worth seeing. It's great.
He says that Jersey Girl even sucks and that it wasn't part of his New Jersey trilogy. I would have liked Chasing Amy better if it had a different girl in it. Her voice is just too annoying for me to handle.

Ummm.....I'd have to say a little of both. I thought that Dogma was excellent. I think that the first Clerks is amusing, but way overrated. People talk about it like it's Citizen Cane, but I didn't think it was that good. An Evening With Kevin Smith is a good watch. He pokes fun at himself. If you asked him, he's probably deny that he's a genius, on the other hand, he'd probably rip you apart if you called him a hack.

Kevin Smith has an ability few writers and directors have....he is human. He isn't into himself and the industry. He is a real guy. He laughs at fart jokes and is the average Joe. He loves and has loved and has lost.
He is a genius. He doesn't kiss ***. He writes what he wants to write. He will not let a studio dictate what will happen. He also speaks his mind. He is completely loyal to his friends and takes them all along for the journey.
A talented compassionate person.

I think it's almost a love him or hate him thing with Kevin Smith. His movies are aimed at a very specific group of people and I don't believe that they really have general appeal. If you find that you relate to him at all then you enjoy the films but if you don't relate then you just can't understand what he is going on about. I personally love the guy and found Jonathon Ross' a bit over the top last night.

Kevin Smith is a comedic genius! Mallrats is the best of all of his movies he's written and directed. I say that because it's is hilarious! I like to pop it in and watch and every time I do it takes the edge off of life! Kevin Smith is an honest family man who cares about his fans! HE IS A GENIUS!!!

I don't think he's a hack and I don't think he's a genius. I think he makes great movies....yes, some better than others. And some a little more "thought provoking" and edgy than others..ie, Dogma, Chasing Amy. He makes his characters very real, which makes it easier to relate to them, which makes successful movies. I don't care what they say about Jersey Girl (or me now that I'm admitting to this), I loved it. Certainly not one of his best, but a very good chick flick.

Kevin Smith is a wonderful writer, director, producer and actor.
I don't think he was thinking when he wrote Jersey Girl, that one might have been just to keep Ben Afleck happy.
Dogma is one of my favourite movies of all time and cheers my up when I depressed or upset, I can't wait to watck it on Thrusday.
Johnathan Ross is just a hack trying to make extra money by talking out of his ***.
