I just want to know what peoples opinions are on how the media portrays the world.

I like Fox News. Let's face it.. Fox News is getting ratings because of a garment of clothing named the short skirt. They have capitalized on showing female news hosts - in full body view showing leg. Hey it works. I'd rather look at Juliet Huddy or even E.D. Hill than Diane Sawyer anyday!
On a serious note, I can't say that Fox News is "Fair and Balanced" though. They are as bias as any news station, but not as liberal as CNN (Clinton News Network)

The advent of competing 24/7 hour cable news channels has been the death of hard news and analysis (as opposed to speculation).
CNN has become a tired old gray lady.
FOX is is a revolting mouthpiece of the Republican right.
MSNBC is a wantta be news network.
Network news has become irrelevant except for those living out in the prairie states.
I depend upon the Internet electronic version of major newspapers: principally the NY Times and the Christian Science Monitor. NPR radio is another valuable resource that I listen to regularly.

CNN - Thorough and honest news, but very timid at tackling the larger issues
Fox News - Biases, overrun by the Moral Majority and Christian Right, leans to far republican to be taken at face value, news is therefore discredited as honest to all parties and viewpoints
The Daily Show - Funny, informative, and honest. Tackles the important issues though not recognized as legitament enough to get better coverage, funds, and (though not all the time) important and relevant interviews.
Those are just my opinions, but I hope it was at least well enough said!

CNN = less objective version of BBC
FOXNEWS = voice of the bush administration
MSNBC = watered down news
CBS = has-been news organization

Its on all day and all night, same thing hour after hour, day after day...they really work an issue to death in stupid ways.
I keep hoping for something different...I'm such an incurrable optimist.
