The answer from "Shim-Shim" is right. I own a small office cleaning business and Sheila Shine is awesome for stainless steel! A little of this product goes a long way. It isn't too expensive and will work great on anything stainless steel...sinks, appliances, etc. Just make sure the surface is totally dry before applying.

I would go with a cleaner that is made for stainless steel. It can be expensive but it's worth it to protect your investment. Dish detergent and hot water are OK for day to day cleaning but you need to treat and protect it with stainles steel cleaner at least once a week to keep it in good condition. Also, use only soft non-abrasive cloths, nothing that might scratch the surface.

Clean the stainless steel real well, removing all grease, then rinse well with warm water, till no soap residue remains. Then rinse again with Vinegar mixed water. Now the Magic: Buff with a "Lint Free Cloth". I've been doing this for years, it does work nicely.

Have tried special cleaners and others remedys like baby oil
but have found that using an electric steamer(from Argos about £30.00) and wipe with Micro fibre cloth (Tescos or Sainsbury's sell) leathv sparkling smear free finish that is real rapid.
Best bit is the steamer cleans so much more ..paintwork, ovens,
windows. tiles and it even freshens up upholstery all without using chemicals!! its brilliant friends of mine have all converted to this method of cleaning as it save money and the environment

Stainles steel will develop fine scratches very easily, be very careful what you rub it with, only the softest, cleanest, fluffiest cotton should be used. Otherwise clean water (ideally distilled) and a tiny drop of liquid detergent is all that's needed. Imagine you are cleaning spectacles.

hey. Baby oil works, although it is a real fire hazard. The best way I've found is to wash it as normal, then dry and buff with a soft dry cloth. This gives a shiny smear free finish for AGES!

after your usual cleaning, rub it over with baby oil, I know it sounds silly, but it really does work, just a small amount on a soft cloth and plenty of elbow grease. Good luck

after cleaning, spread a thin film of vaseline on and wipe with kitchen roll. Works a treat. It also protects it from staining.
