The US population is 299,775,179.
There are 149,300,000 people in the labor force (including 8 million unemployed).
There are around 265 million people of working age or greater.
There are around 120 million adults that aren't working.
What are these 120 million adults doing each day?
How do we get them to earn an income and help pay down the Federal debt?

There are 70 million people under the age of 18 and not part of the 120 million.
There are only 15 million in college of the 120 million and some of those people work.
There are 36 million people (of the 120 million) over the age of 65.
There are 48 million of the 120 million receiving social security.
Some of the 48 million people receiving social security are still working so some of the 48 million is part of the 149 million in the labor pool.
If every child had one parent not working and being a stay at home parent, that would account for 70 million of the 120 million not working. Some people have more than one child and of course not every child has at least one parent staying at home with them.

What are they doing???
Many are stay at home Mums and Dads. Most of them work 3 times harder than those in the labour force. They just don't receive taxable income.
Many are handicapped or not able to work due to permanent illness.
Many are so rich that they don't need to join the labour force.
Many are retired and living off their pensions.
Many are students still working towards their chosen careers.

As for the Federal debt, it will not decrease as long as Americans keep beating around the Bush instead of getting rid of him.

Create more jobs for them. The last recession really made our manufactoring sector go down the toilet. Why keep a Manufactoring position that pays $17 an hour here when a company can go to Mexico or somewhere else for around $4. Also manufactoring is a strong base for service industries too. You can't have a service base were there is no people, or everyone is leaving.

How many of those 120M are stay-at-home parents? They are already doing a very important job. Check the census numbers. I suspect the only people who can't get jobs have good reasons for it. Do you really want to lower your hiring standards? Sure, education is a problem. But a bigger one is character. A lot of unemployables are simply not trustworthy.

Maybe the gov't could hire them to track down illegals, except that probably a lot of them ARE illegals.
Then the gov't could issue shotguns to the rest and post them on our borders.
Getting rid of illegals, and keeping them out, would make a big dent in the national debt.

Why would you want to do that? The federal debt doesn't kill anybody. And we are not in any danger of being sanctioned. We have one of the greatest economies in the world. These debt figures are just figures. Let some third world country worry about debts, lets worry about remaining the world leaders.

thanx
