The rumor mill had Dick Grayson being the sacrificial lamb and I was just happy they didn't kill him off. I'm not crazy about the death of Connor because I thought they might be able to turn him into a better character after all of his self doubt.

Here's my opinion. Conner Kent was a "clone" of some type with DNA from both Lex Luthor and Clark Kent? That in itself was rather ludicrous to begin with. When the new "Superboy" came out, I thought it was interesting, but then it digressed in weird directions, and I stopped liking the character. Not to be cruel, but I think it is a good decision to eliminate this character. A person can't have more than one biological father, no matter where the DNA is from, and some of the side characters in his series were annoying and strange. That's just my opinion, as I know he had fans.

What death? The Flash and Supergirl "died" in Crisis on Infinite Earths, but never really died. Superman "died", but got better. And how many X-Men have been "dead" but aren't now?

Conner will be back in some form sooner or later.

Well, someone always has to go during a DC crisis- and he was the weakest link, goodbye.

At least they gave him a semi-heroic end. I never really liked the new Superboy much- I thought he was the least interesting of the replacements introduced in the post-Doomsday storyline, so I guess it wasn't a bad choice.

I was really bugged by it, I really liked his character - I thought his T shirt was cool, well at least Supergirl got to wear it in her series. But yeah I thought it was bad, but obviously people weren't liking him that much. I however thought he was cool, nevermind - he'll probably come back, they always come back in comics one way or another. I mean look at Jason Todd in Batman, it took him long enough but he's back and after what the Joker did to him that was a shock LOL

Why did that not shock me? Honestly, after you have killed Superman, you can pretty much kill any comic book character you set your eyes on.
