Hi;
I've been fortunate to see them many many times. I live in east central Minnesota and spent my teen and college years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They are an often occurence in the places I have lived. The lights are greenish in color and they dance across the sky.

Yes, I saw a rare occurrence of them in Eastern WA out in the county while driving the truck. I about crapped my pants, I thought the coffee was finally taking it's toll after all of these years, LOL :)
My sighting was not like others describe it though, I only saw the cooler colors, like purple and blue and in between, and it was quick, about 3-5 seconds. It was really cold that night, and mostly clear, and was late, maybe 2 in the morning, or is that early? (grin). I work graveyard so it's late for me :)

Its something I've always wanted to see since I learned about them in the 5th grade.
I also said that I wanted to live in Virginia when I did a report in the 5th grade. Eight years later, here I am!

I remember seeing it once about 20 years ago, it was a perfectly clear night and it just lit the whole sky up. It was pretty impressive. My poor mom freaked out because she thought we were being invaded.
