Because I think I have a real feel for the product, sir. I believe in it, and I can sell something I can believe in. I use it myself, and have for years. [Which is, by the way, the only products you should try to sell, so unless the thing is too new for this to be true, it had better be true. Or substitute the high-tech version if appropriate; I have tried it and I love it, and I bought one for myself as soon as I saw it.] I do not rely on hype; I sell people what I believe in, and that works.

you can talk about how you handle your customers uniquely... compare how the average salesperson reacts in such a situation but how you drove an extra mile and did better with your customer. also, talk about qualities you have that most other salespersons don't have; for example if your target market is expatriates you can mention about the exchange year you had in Europe and how you picked up some basic German while there and how it was a great learning experience to work together with people from different cultures. the key is to find out what's unique about you and accentuate that.

if you're gonna be asked to do something that's quite new to you, you can also tell your employer that you're a fast learner and give an example of how well you've handled new assignments in the past.

good luck!

Briefly explain how your qualifications fit well into the job description, by qualifications I mean skills in addition to credentials, and finish by emphasizing how you will do more than what is required in the job.....you will go the extra mile, give more than 100%, etc. This is where you really need to sincerely sell yourself. Try to come up with skills that have not been overused and heard by employers over and over.
