my boston surround sound wont put out of all 5 speakers?

its hooked up to a gateway desktop

well perhaps you have it hooked up wrong

Is your sound card 5.1 compatable? If so, try going into Control Panel and then Sounds and Audio Devices. Click the Advanced button in Speaker Properties near the bottom of the window and change it to 5.1 surround speakers there.
