I always use the lingo of most companies that lay you off. I would say that the position was eliminated due to restructuring. This is just a polite way of saying that we are cutting back and we need to let you go.

You cant do that chook. Make up a reason after the fact. Most sensible new employers call the last referee...so whatever went on there needs to be explained and be real about it to an extent. Thats why its important to leave work on a good note.
If your last employer was happy with you but you quit....you could say it was;
* because you wanted to travel or
* had education/family commitments and the hours were not suitable (only if the hours they offer are different).
* You dont say that previous ticked you off because that would mean you have bad social skills and dont fit in easily (even if it was them, they would think its you).
* You dont diss the last employer and you dont diss the personell either....because employers want to looked on favourably if YOU ever quit. They want to know you can adapt and get along with the most tempremental OTHER staff members.
* If you were lazy, medically inclined or incompetent...you need to work through those issues before you go for another job....and you need to let them know that it will be different this time because............
If you were not doing a good job because you didnt like that work....just tell them it didnt fit because you realised creativity/retail (or whatever job you go for) was something that inspired you more.

Don't tell the employer that you wanted to explore other opportunities, needed a career change, etc. Employers see right through that. If you quit your last job without having another to go to, you need to explain briefly and to the point why you left without bad mouthing your former employer. The important thing is to be honest but diplomatic with your answer. Then you need to say something positive about yourself to end your response upbeat.

Tell them the truth! I want to earn more and that only can give me job satisfaction. Why? Simple, because you can earn more only by doing your job in an excellent manner and vice-versa. If they ask you that in future if anybody else pays you more will you leave us? Tell them not to let the situation arise.

It sounds like you were fired. What reason were you given. Was your job abolished, was there a realignment, did you have other personal obligations.
