In Thailand we say Choke Dee, which means good luck, if you have had it for 5 years and no problems you need to buy a lottery ticket, cause guaranteed you will win! The question should be what's good about it! 2 years ago when in America at my daughters she had just got a new PC from my son in Texas and asked me to figure it out, impossible, it like had a mind of it's own, we finally took it back to Circuit City and the tech there said they have had so many problems with it, they hate to sell it! Good for you, hey what ever works, and I hope it stays good for you!

The first computer I had was an ME and I have used it for 6 years and no problems. I used to play a lot of games on that computer by now and don't know why is everyone complaining about it. I also have an XP but a year I got a virus and mostly was website that I entered on the Millennium and I needed to reformat the XP. Then it looks like Millennium may be virus proof or something because I have entered to the same websites on both ME and XP.

There is nothing fondamentaly wrong with Windows Millenium But it is a product inferior to Windows 2000 (that was availalbe around the same time) so many people complained that microsoft was providing a low quality product compared to what they were capable of delivering.
Now as long as you are happy with Windows Millenium, there is no reason to change.

If it works then it's fine. You mention that you've had no issues for 5 years then you probably haven't installed software recently.
Windows ME has many limitations and the bottem line is that it's no better then Windows 98.
Windows XP manages plug and play and USB and can address higher ammounts of memory there is no comparison.
But if you have an older PC it would make no sense to load XP because your PC would run slow then it does now.

When microsoft created ME it was not a very good operating system because it lacked a lot of support for some exisiting hardware and was not working real well with older hardware either. Basically it was not a very good operating system and microsoft quit supporting it after only a year. Since they came out with windows 2000 right after me and it was a much better operating system and functioned with fewer problems. Basically ME was jsut a revamp of 98 with some compatibility issues. I personally saw it work well on some machines that were designed for it and on others it would hose up continually. So to each his own

I didn't have any problems with Windows 3.1.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.
A few annoyances perhaps, but no real problems.
Maybe it's operator error?

I guess you havent worked on XP ;)
ME has a lot of bugs, including the file indexing it does which makes the explorer really slow. Doing development work on it and heavy usage gets the system crash as well as give you a mental crash seeing it happen

It's is completely full of bugs. Sometimes, people just use the right things so that it does not crash, but I personally cannot even install WinME because it crashes during the Install! If it works for you, consider yourself lucky.

Poor driver selection and is not forgiving if you make stupid mistakes. At the some time you have to remember it fropm Micorosft and they make sure their products become obsolete as quickly as possible
