Were having a halloween party and need some ideas for food, and games. But do not want to spend a fortune. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

A treasure hunt is fun.

We had two teams, tied glow sticks on skeleton parts and scattered them on our property. The teams had to go out and find all their parts, then come back, put them together, then they were given their last clue to find the head that was located in the treasure chest. Once the head was on, the winner was announced, but everyone received all the treasure they wanted. It was a big hit.

Also, feel the body parts was fun. Sit in a circle, blindfolded and pass around cut hot dogs for noses, cooked spaghetti noodles for brains, peeled grapes for eyes, and whatever else you can think of. They have to guess what they are.

Food ideas.

Mummy toes. Mini sausages with the end peeled out like a toenail, then wrap them in pieces of tortilla like a bandage, after cooked, put ketchup on the toenail. Looks like a real toe!

Boogers on a stick.. Velveeta cheese mixed with green food coloring and pretzels. Dip the pretzel end in the cheese and it looks like well.. a booger.

Plastic gloves. Put a candy corn in the finger tip, then fill the rest with popcorn or other goodies.

Depending on the age...

I threw a halloween party last year for my niece and stepdaughter. We didn't have a lot of money so I made all the decorations (almost).

We had this huge basement. I lined all the walls in black trashbags (better and faster to use black sheets) then I cut out yellow eyes and taped them as if they were looking out. I got brown construction paper and cut out a fence and orange construction paper and made a pumpkin patch. I got white paper and made ghosts. I got 2 trashbags and taped them to the floor and stuffed big clear trashbags(can use anything) under them to make it look like a grave. I cut out card board and colored it silver and made the headstones. I had orange and black crate paper(at dollar store 1.00 a piece) and cut lots of strings and hung them from the ceiling. I balled up paper and put a white trashbag over it and made a ghost out of it. I got black crate paper and made spiders and hung them from the ceiling. It looked great! Everyone thought it was cool. Paper plates, napkins table cloths (Dollar store 1.00 a piece). I had a friend bring a strobe light, and fogger for the room. I also downloaded halloween music from limewire.com and played it.

Games: I cooked spagetti noodles and stuck them in a jar, added red food coloring and a little water... made it look like intestines.. I put some fake nails my stepdaughter had. (I painted one red) each person had to stick their hand in the jar and find a fingernail. The one who found the red one... won..
We played limbo.. to the monster mash song...
I made a witch face out of construction paper and some warts.. and played pin the wart on the witches nose..
We had best costume, scariest costume, and most unique costume contests. I got some hotdogs and cut them in half and put a finger nail on the end of them making them look like fingers. I covered the other ends up with a napkin. Another friend brought over a piniata and we played that. (These were 12 year olds) they still loved the kiddie games.

It was the best party we have had. All the kids loved it.
I hope some of this helped.

Have a little curtain with bowls behind with ketchup and different things. Have people put their hands in them and tell them it is blood so forth.

Everyone dresses like their favorite President and his wife; then they hold 'backstabbing' debates against each other...

Or you could bob for apples...pin the witch on the broomstick...

snack food--chips, dips, little smokies in bbq sauce, queso dip.
You can find brisket cheap, just throw one on the grill. And BYOB
bring your own beverage.
