DON'T GET THEM ANYTHING.
They are the boss, they should be getting you stuff for Boss Day.

Depends a lot on how informal/friendly your relationship with her is. Work oriented products are always a safe bet - nice pens, business card holders, paperweights - maybe you could find something with a dog or horse theme? Mugs are good too, especially if your boss drinks coffee or tea frequently. If I give a mug as a gift, I like to package it with some fancy teas, gourmet coffee, hot chocolate mix, apple cider mix, etc.

Give her a small bouquet of flowers. Flowers are nice to look at, a good conversational piece, picks up positive thoughts and feelings, not only for her but also people in the office, or a nice dishgarden - a collection of small plants in a basket if you want the gift to be a lasting one.

Did you know that people spend more time looking for gifts
for their bosses than for their spouces, but women spend more
time shopping for their pets than their spouses.
I think I would buy something pertaining to pets (or horses).. for example, is it possibe at a large book store that is to fnd a picture-type book on horses..race horses, etc... and/or is it possible(I have seen them) great picture books on dogs.

Maybe a calendar with horses or dog? Or if she has those animals a gift certificate to the local tack shop or Petsmart.

I would suggest you get a a spa day package of some sort. manicure pedicure, massage or something like that. Something that shows you know she works hard and that you appreciate her as a boss.

It's inappropriate for someone to buy their boss a gift. Drop her a short e-mail telling her how much you appreciate her and enjoy working for her....that's appropriate and will be enjoyed.

Nothing.
Ignore this silly pretend holiday.
Take her to lunch some time when she needs a break from work.
