Depends on where you're from and who you hang out with. Some people don't care about how much clothes cost, others think it's the end-all be-all to civilization. It's about status.

I have no idea what you are talking about. If it is cheap and comfortable, why cant you wear it. I actually think it is the opposite. Most women who like to shop, go to the malls and buy pants and shirts that are way over 30$ or more. I wear what fits. if it is five dollars, and fits, I buy it, but I hate shopping. If you find something that is cheap and fits buy it. Don't worry what people will think. People suck anyway, as a rule.

Oh please, have you really thought about this?? Men have it easy. Women always have to pay more for everything...how much do you spend to get your hair cut? Women are looking at a $40-$200...
We have cosmetics, lingerie, way more styling products, even our deodorant & dry cleaning costs more than mens, and don't get me started on shoes. And how about wedding or formal events? Guys buy a suit or rent a tux & done. Women? We can't be seen wearing the same dress at more than 1 function & wedding dresses are at least $1000.
Its great that you're putting out the cash to look good but do you really think that women aren't doing the same? Don't just think about the T-shirt, you have to look at the whole package from head to toe before you come up with your total $$ spent. I think you'll find that women come out spending more than men most of the time.

i think you are mistaken by these 'cheap things'. It depends on a persons style rather then being a male or female. One can find men with a 1$ tie hidden behing a 5$ shirt and one can find a women wearing a 80$ tank top too! Its more a discrimination in your value system rather than a fact
PS : man's underwear costs peanuts compared to womens lingerie ( check out with VS)

It's not really the cost of the outfit but how you wear it. A guy can buy a cheap shirt but jazz it up with maybe some fresh shoes and some jewelry.

Uhhhh, I couldn't disagree with you more.
Girls clothes cost 10 times more than guys. Not including my suits and work clothes, my most expensive clothes are probably $30 jeans. And I have never been accused of having a lack of style.
You don't always have to buy name brand, there is stuff just as good out there for a lot less.

It's because the 5 dollar T-shirt with "cute" across the front looks better on us, than on guys. I mean, if you really wanted to wear it, go for it, but you might get some weird looks on the street...

Because most women are more patient in searching for the clothes that are cheaper yet stylish. Unlike most men, once they found the kind of apparel they want..they don't look for other option. So they end up not buying it no matter how much it costs..

Actually, I didn't know that women could get away with wearing cheap crap. Wearing cheap crap usually makes us look like either a frumpy mom or a tramp.

I've never heard of that. I could care less about how much a guy spends on his clothes. Good luck with that!
