my son used it for about three months and i wouldn' t reccomend it he had to go ever month for blood work and it caused him to have nosebleeds all the time and if you are a girl ythey will recommend you to go on birth control if you get pregnent or get someone pregnent while you are taking it it will cause severe birth defects and it can also cause depression in teenageres or even suicide i would recomend that you ask your doctor for all the information on it it will also make your skin real dry

I used it over 2 years ago for 4 months. I had acne and blackheads and other weird pimples on my face, chest, neck, back (all the way down) and even on the back of my legs.

after 3 weeks the blackheads literally 'fell' out of my nose and even though my skin became really dry and your lips get cracked (use CARMEX, it is the BEST for 99c too!) and you have to wear high SPF if you're in the sun, everything COMPLETELY cleared up and I've not had one breakout since.

Also, to address to person who said it causes depression/ suicide tendancies, I had suffered from depression for 5 years BEFORE I took Accutane and I told my dermatologist that I was nervous to try it because I didn't want it coming back, but she had done a 10 year follow-up study on thousands of people taking accutane and not ONE person had a depression or suicide problem, it is an UNFOUNDED myth that American hysteria likes to feed.

I would use it all over again and have no regrets. The inside of your nose can get dry and cracked too (I guess why some people say they have 'nose-bleeds') but just use some Vaseline in there and it's no problem.

Most important to remember is moisturise, use Carmex for the lips, use sun cream DAILY (even in cold places - I recommend Neutrogena, they have a special one which is NOT greasy $10 for a tube of SPF45), NEVER sunbathe while you're taking it and DON'T get pregnant.

I am a 2 week accutane user and i have had good results for now and the side affects are not that severe. I would reccomend it to anyone with severe acne problems.

Used it over 20 years ago. It helps (made it a lot clearer, but not completely clear). Only side effects were really dry skin and occasional nose bleeds.
