I know a lot of people like to read eBooks, but I just can't do it. I can't sit looking at my screen passively for as long as I can curl up on the couch in a big blanket. And it doesn't feel like a book if I can't turn pages. Not to mention the feel of the pages, and the smell of the paper/ink/glue.
Some people say the computer will eventually take over all forms of paper and books, but I hope that happens after my death. Or I'll be the crazy old lady who still reads these old fashioned "paper books" ! :-)

Some people will think so, but in the few short years left for the making of paper from trees, I think that paperback books and hardback paper books will become so rare as to become virtually priceless in the future. And it seems to me it is easier to read a book in solid form than have to scroll down or go to the next page with a computer key. Of course, I have been reading books made of paper for over 50 years, so I am probably prejudiced towards that venue.

I prefer paper. First, an ebook can only be read on a computer or handheld device, which means you're kind of limited. It's portable if you have a handheld computer, but you're limited by its battery life. As for purchasing, a paper book will last forever; an ebook can be accidentally deleted by a virus or destroyed in a hard drive crash. And over the years its format may become obsolete and it may not be readable in the future.

eBooks cannot replace the tangible look and feel of reading a novel on paper. I'll take a book over an eBook every time.

No - ever walked into a bookstore and smelled the scent of all that wonderfully printed and bound knowledge!
It is there just for you to browse and flip through. To read, revel in, or reject. To feel the smoothed grittiness of the pages as you flip them. To here that slight crisp creak as you open a book for the first time!
There is and will never be anything like it.

I prefer reading the actual book. It's really a matter of preference. I don't think there is any right or wrong answer to this, it just depends on how YOU like to have a story unfold to you: sitting in a chair with a book in hand, or sitting at your computer with the book on the screen.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

A real book. You can't curl up with a good ebook.
And nothing beats the smell of an old hardback

Personally, reading too much computer-based print gives me eye fatigue, far more so than text printed on paper. Hence, I would prefer an actual book.

An actual book is better to me. I just love the smell of a new book.
