You can't control African bees...that's why they're called killer bees. They are only docile when there is no queen secreting pheromones into the colony she rules. But, without that queen, you have no possibility of creating a colony.

Forget the African bees.

Start up a colony with European bees. You can order everything you need (including bees) through the mail from this site. http://www.dadant.com/

Note...it is too late in the year to start a hive. You will need to wait until; the spring.
