I'm sure I'll get a lot of crap about this, but for me it was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Don't get me wrong, I am a big Tim Burton fan and the movie was good, it just didn't live up to all of the raves I was hearing. Probably because Willy Wonka & TCF is one of my favorite movies and Gene Wilder is the best Willy Wonka hands down.

Titanic was more of a 'chick flick' and yeah it was disappointing. But the most over rated fikm i hav ever seen was Jarhead. The publicity surrounding the film was extreme, but the end product was just so over rated

The remake of King Kong. I saw it and I was not impressed at all. I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on Titanic. It was a great movie, and you're right about that damn song. I swear I was ready to stone that chick.

People keep saying Eyes Wide Shut, but as far as I can remember, everyone thought that movie was a stupid piece of crap even when it came out. Kubrick died of a broken heart. And then someone said Waterworld, but that movie was panned by critics and became one of the biggest flops in movie history.
What I'd like to tell you is the most underrated movie in history. FREDDY GOT FINGERED. Seriously watch it.

Now, not that it was hyped that much. However, it was SO bad, that if it got ANY HYPE AT ALL, it is the most OVERHYPED movie ever!

Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2. These movies are not that great(with the exception of Kiera Knightley). Somehow they keep making money. Too much flash and not enough substance.

The Piano - by Jane Campion. I'd really enjoyed 'An Angel at My Table,' about Janet Frame, so I was really looking forward to The Piano. We were invited to an early screening and I thought that its overlays of political correctness and its formulatic quality made it dreadful, and what was worse was that the translations from Maori to English in the subtitles had lots of greengrocer's apostrophes ... I said so, my friend went ballistic, we quarrelled, and I still hate the darned film.
