I'll skip over philosophy professor as a career, not because it isn't a good one, but because the chances of anyone getting a decent professorship in philosophy given the competition is miniscule.
A philosophy BA is good for any professional-level (i.e. degreed professional) career that demands good analytical/problem solving skills. Examples include management analysts and human resource analysts. Since the philosophy degree is not a "directly related" degree, you would need to find an entry level professional position, in other words, one that does not require any previous experience or training at the time of hire other than a four year degree. These jobs can sometimes be difficult to find. If you pick up some business and/or finance related coursework along the way, this will improve your chances.
The other option is law. Phiosophy is excellent training for law, and philosophy majors on average have significantly higher LSAT scores than any other major (LSAT is the standardized test for law school).

Like many majors a philosophy major won't train you for a particular job, unless you get a PhD and become a professor.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't consider that major if you are interested in it. Many jobs don't require a particular major. The issue will be becoming better aware of the career possibilties. Also you would be well prepared for some graduate schools such as law school.

When you get a degree that teaches you how to think, you can go into almost any field.
You may not have the skills needed for that job -- but you do have the skills that will allow you to learn that job. It might be wise to take some practical courses along the way -- thinks like economics, mathematics, computer science classes.
You may want ot think about a law degree or MBA after the BA>
