it's about gender roles- our society expects a certain type of behavior for women and men, masturbation has always been a taboo subject particularly for women, some women are ashame to admit they do, because of a million myths...there's also an old belief that if you are attach there's no need to masturbate, it may give your partner that wrong impression that you are not satisfy or something but just know Masturbation is good for you, even if you have a partner it allows you to know your body better, and of course it relaxes you.

I think the opposite is true.
Consider how easy (and socially acceptable) it is to buy and own a vibrator... ann summers parties are widespread, and their shops are conveniently situated in any town
now consider the same for a male device. It causes scorn and would cause a man to suffer the terrible stigma of being a 'w*nker'

just one of they sad truths, more women should be open about it. Personally i would be a bit shocked if i was walking down the street and a woman stopped me to tell me she had cracked one off that morning

It has to do with our expectations of the sexes. In general, we expect men to be sexual, therefore masturbating fits in with that expectation. Our expectations of females, however, are much more conflicted when it comes to their being sexual. They are "mothers" which seems contrary to sexual. The old madonna/whore thing. It is cultural and probably not universally present.

No, everyone does it. Its the most natural thing to do. I just think that women dont talk about it as much (I may be wrong) in open conversation
