I'd say there are not many "real fans". It's the same like for example in Munich...

Yeah dipshit, its just that Manchester United have got the largest fan base in the world so the majority of Manchester United fans don't actually live in Manchester.

I've been to Old Trafford 3 times. Twice for United, once for England. All three games were home wins. I also sat two rows behind Bobby Charlton at the Hawthorns watching United stuff West Brom. Great fun.

most Man utd fans do not live in Manchester.
However thats a good thing as they have such a huge following.
otherwise would be a smaller club.
More season tickets are sold to outside manchester fans.
Does it matter?

yes, i was born in manchester, grew up in manchester, and live in manchester now
it's the same though for liverpool, chelsea, arsenal. these teams would be in debt if it weren't for fans from outside the city; and the majority of fans for most of the premiership clubs do not come from the club's city. i couldn't care where you're from, as long as you pick your club and stick with it through and through. these "jokes" about man u fans all coming from london and comments like your one are becoming tiresome
