I just designed my own wallpaper this afternoon and I'm wondering if i can enlarge it to the size of a tarpaulin. About 1x3 meters. I know its possible in printing press or something like that (enlarging a jpeg to that size while maintaining its quality) just want to know how could it be done. All answers or comments is greatly appreciated. THANKS!
GODBLESS!

It depends somewhat on the nature of the image, but close up it will be obviously lacking in detail. You can get rid of the pixelation by using Photoshop or something similar to blow up the digital image. You need a program that will interpolate pixels to smooth out the detail when it enlarges. You need at least 3 pixels/mm to avoid it looking obviously pixelated, but you can get away with fewer if you're okay with some pixelation or if the image won't be seen close up.

Well, even though it is possible to print it, an 800x600 (0,48 Mp) picture wont look good in 1x3 meters because the resolution is too low. What i mean is that the quality will be very bad and you'll see big squares of colors. For 1x3 meters you will need something between 5 Mp (2600x1900) and 8 Mp (3300x2400) or 10 Mp (3600x2700). The values are aprox. because it also depends on the exact measures and some designs require more quality than others in order to look good.

Nope - the 800x600 is good for just that - maybe 11x14 inches in print, but beyond that, i dont know you could do it simply - the professinonals at a press might have to help...

Some commercial printing places like Kinkos have the ability to print large sizes like that. Most of the time if you have the image on disk thay can download it and print it for you. I know they have printers that can handle jobs like that. Hope that helps.

NO! For such a size (1*3m) the minimum resolution should be 2272X1704 px .
