Those who bully others have problems. Best thing to do is to remain calm and ask the bully if there is another way discuss what is at hand. Let's assume the bully is male. After the issue has died down a bit and his adrenalin has reduced, just go to him and let him know that you felt threatened by his tone and it can generate a negative reaction out of you. Most times bullies do not know that they are being a bully (especially at work) This happens sometimes when they themselves are being abused (at home or in a relationship) people usually live out what they learn. On the other hand, maybe you are too sensitive and thinks the person is a bully. Simply step back and ask yourself "Why does his attitude affect me? How can I not think negative about this person's mannerism?" If you can answer that, then you are on the way to resolving the bully's relationship with you. Either way, it is YOU who have to do something about it. Find out which is the best way to approach it based on what you know of him. In the end, you must remain calm and caring, not calm and cruel. There is a difference.

I have found the best way to deal with someone like that is to make sure you have people around when they act like that and make a big effort to say i know you feel bad about yourself, and that's why you bully me I hope your day gets better. this will make others dislike the bully so much that the next time they bully you people will stick up for you.

Depending on how bad you need the job. You could tell your supervisor, but that would make you seem cowardly towards the bully and anyone else that knows whats going on. You could confront the guy and try to make him back off which might either lead to a fist fight or it may show the guy your no wuss and he may just leave you alone.

I had the same problem once. Started a new job and their was this guy who loved bullying anyone who let him get away with it. Of course, being the new guy and being smaller than him, I got the bulk of it. One day I had had enough and when he walked up to me to start some **** I slammed him across the head with a lunch pail I had in my hand.
Funny but he never bothered me after that. In fact, after getting whomped good in front of everyone he really never bothered with anyone after that and eventually quit.

Make his life as miserable as he makes you. Just do it secretively. There are a lot of ways to make an idiot look like an idiot, and he will usually help. If he is away from his work area, do something to it that makes it look bad, and then figure out a way to get his supervisor over to see it.
Revenge is the greatest reward. You can't rely on others to take care of you. Handle it yourself.

i think by speakig i would suggest you conference with your boss to unburden yourself of the bullying your forced to endure. in your conversation i wold tell your boss you are thinking about hiring an attorney to represent you in a harassment charge against the person doing the bullying.
all types of bullying are forms of harassment and that's against the law in any workplace. your boss will have to deal with your complaint. it's not your responsibility to confront the bully.
if the bullying doesn't stop or takes a different angle, if you can afford a lawyer, see one just to seek advise.
i think by speaking with your boss and expressing your willingness to bring about harassment charges, will rectify the problem immediately.
good luck. i hope you problem is resolved quickly.

Report it to your supervisor and never let the bully know that they got to you. Just carry on as if nothing is happening. Don't shy away and always look them in the eye when you see them.
