I told my students it was time to do vocabulary words and one of them said "What's vocabulary words?"

But isn't the phrase "vocabulary words" a little redundant, I mean vocabulary is a noun meaning a set of words in a language. Technically the kid caught your mistake. :-)

i think it would be hard to teach a childs first word vocabulary..though it would help them understand if you got it through to them....
