Whats the deal with that saying? My granny never sucked eggs. Why would anyone want to suck eggs?

...and why does Yahoo seem to have a problem with this question?

I mean what's sucking eggs got to do with trying to teach elders blah blah? Slurp!

It's a very perculiar saying. It is to do with teaching someone something that is so blindingly obvious they should know how to do it. Why the expression "I thought I was teaching my gran to suck eggs" came to be I don't know

You Granny never let on, but she did know how to suck eggs!
The saying means you are being a wise-guy or young whipper-snapper. You are presumptuous enough to try to teach your elders and betters to do something that they already are proficient at.
And Yahoo have problems with all sorts of innocuous things at the moment, not just sucking eggs.
