I 'm not gonna blaim you for you've always lived in a country that is full of lies and propeganda agaist Islam/Iran/Moslems.I'm living in Iran so don't claim you know my country better than me.Don't you understand that all these lies are because of political matters?They wanna picture us as terrible things that we're not.To picture our government as an Islamic tyrant.Then when they manage to control your brains they will attack us and they will tell you they've freed us.I don't really know can Iraqi people live a happy life after those terrorists attacked their country,raped them and killed their parents and abused their children and stole their oil and gold?Can they?the only thing U.S government is doing is to attack countries in the name of fighting terrorism (while there are actually no terrorists over here).If U.S government wanted to fight terrorists I suppose they should fight themselves in the first place.Who has told you all these lies?Uncle WC Bush?In Islam there is no difference between man and woman except some matters like clothing.In Iran women are even better that men.95% of them get into the best universities and they even get P.H.Ds while 50% of boys cannot even pass the university enterance exam of good universities(because girls are more clever).Who says women cannot drive cars?In Tehran there are even a special streets for woman taxi/bus/truck drivers.They respect their religion so they are free.We are all happy living here.They are much more respectful and beautiful than the women in your countries.They are not looked at as sex objects like they are in your countries.Who says they are killed?Stop believing in lies for the sake of God!And yes wearing beautiful scarves makes them even more attractive and no one wears baggy cloths but some old(more that 50)women.No one wears scarves fully.more than half of their hair flies out.So why no one kills them?Simple,because there is no one to kill them.It's all because of your wrong imaginations and Bush's lies.So your government is good because it allows you to commite evil deeds like fornication and sleeping with strangers.I've seen this several times amonge the questions asked here.And our govrnment is bad because it has made our country a safe place for living.Interesting attitudes you have! No I don't believe most of what I hear about Muslims and Iran.

In response to your comments about this bulletin board, I must say that many of the people writing questions and answers here are right wing Republicans. Some are employed by or volunteering for the Republican party or for their fundamentalist Christian churches. These people are deliberately trying to present their view to the exclusion of others. They flood the bulletin board in an attempt to drown out moderate and informed opinions and questions. In fact these right wing Republicans represent less than 1/2 of the population of the US -- they are very overrepresented on this forum.

What Americans lack is a sense of shame. Lacking this, the unethical quickly become ruthless liars and propagandists. Maybe there's too much worry about shame and reputation in the Arab and Persian world, but there is almost none here, and we are all seeing the effects.

I have a friend who is Iranian. He tells me similar stories as you have just done. He also tells me of many of the inhumane laws and jailing of reporters who write against the government. How can you suggest that our media is biased and yours is not given these facts?
I have to tell you I understand your views and concerns about the US government using the war on terror as an excuse to invade sovereign nations. I understand your country's quest for nuclear power as the one weapon to relieve the threat. My fear is that having a nuke may make your country a target. I am sure you know the rest of the world has condemed Iran's violations in producing this power, not just the USA. I am sure you are also aware Bush has said the US will not lead any action (diplomatic or military) against Iran. He wants the UN to deal with this issue. The concern of the world is that your leaders have vowed to destroy Israel and your leaders have given no reason to remove the fear of Iran sending such nuclear weapons into Israel.
By the way Israel left Lebanon twenty years ago, and over the past few years, Israel has been using it's military to remove Jews from occupied land to give back to arabs. Do you know why Israel invaded Lebanon in the first place? Hezbollah is a terrorist organization which crosses the border into Israel to carry out unprevoked attacks. Though you are not aware your governemnt does give them money, arms and military training. That is from the world press not USA media.
If you do not hate americans why did you invade our embassy and hold the hostages for 444 days? Why do you burn our flagand carry signs stating "death to America"? Why do you cheer when 3000 people die at the hands of Muslim extremists (the world Trade Towers)? This is where we get our "prejudgement".
The media as a whole is biased. They report to you all the bad about the US and to us all the bad in Iran. We allow our governments to feed on this to separate and divide us.
It is good that the people of Iran understand that Americans do not support the imperialistic actions of our governemnt. We will get a new view in Washinton to concentrate on using our power to help the world through peace not fear.

I've never been to Iran, but I have been to Syria, Jordan Saudi, UAE, Malysia, and lots of countries with views which differ from those in America. Ihave found all those places VERY peaceful and friendly.
If you have time to listen to the two following tapes, they will explain why Americans think the way they do.
I would like to apologise to you for the lack of understanding demonstrated to your people. Not everyone thinks that way.

Women may be able to drive in Iran but that is not because of your 'enlightened' leaders. That is left over from the more secular regime of the Shah. The fact is that the few liberties women gained during that time are already being taken from them. Women MUST cover their heads in public. Women have recently been banned from attending sporting events. It's only a matter of time before they are reduced to the second class citizens that they are in the rest of the muslim world.
The regime in Tehran will fall. There are enough western sympathizers in your country that will work with us to kill the mullahs who have brain washed idiots like you. The end is coming for you and your kind. You will not acquire nuclear weapons. You will not wipe Israel off the map. There are still 2 years left of Bush's administration. Oh boy are you misguided.
You say Iran has never had a war. What about the Iran-Iraq war. So soon forgotten. How many young boys were sent to their death?
What about your president who openly denies the Holocaust and the right of Israel to exist.
What about the Canadian woman journalist of Iranian descent who was imprisoned tortured and beaten until she died. Her family could not even get her body back.
What if a woman came to Iran and refused to wear clothes deemed modest by your standards and cover her head? Would she not be arrested and beaten? On the other hand muslim women come to this country. They can walk around veiled. We do not like it since we are asking what are you afraid of? No one is going to attack you if you show your face. Why must we conform to your standards when we visit your country but you do not wish to conform to our customs.
What about Saudi Arabia?
Christianity is forbidden there. Women are beaten if they drive or are found in a car with a man who is not a brother, husband or other male relative? Women cannot travel without the permission of a husband or male relative.
What about Afganistan under the Taliban?
Women had to wear a Burka, make no noise when walking and died by the thousands when they had to blacken their windows. Life without sunlight causes serious health problems.

What about equality for men and women? The Koran says a man can beat his wife. I spoke to a muslim woman about this. She thinks it is o.k. because there are bad women. Yes of course, but are there no bad men?
I could go on and on about this, but I won't since I could not convince you anyway. You say no one hates Christians and Americans. Who stormed the American Embassy in Teheran a few years ago? Already forgotten I suppose.
