It depends on what religion you're talking about. Most Southerners tend to be Evangelical Christians, though, of course, there are also Catholics and members of other religious denominations. That being said, I have to say that I hate the influence that the Religious Right has in politics in the South. That's the main reason why so many Southern states are so far behind the rest of the country.

Is there a Southern Religion? I know there are Southern Baptists, but I was unaware of a specific religion of the South.
I think Hare Krishna's or Moonies are the worst.

The same religions in the South are found everywhere in this country. My sister lives in the South and she's Catholic.

Not at all. We penguins have a very good religion and there is no need for you to put it, or us, down. Our movie was very popular last year, and formalwear sales are up. More and more humans are selling their homes, buying tuxedoes and moving here to beautiful Antarctica. There's plenty of room, and lately, the ice has been melting somewhat. It's a balmy minus thirty here in the Our Holy Penguin Temple. Our religion is both the best religion and the southernmost!

I think from your question you are an atheist. We have high moral convictions in the south.there are more true Christians here than anywhere else in the united States.You find all kinds of non-christian groups in the big city's but we stay true to what this country was founded on. Jesus Christ. If you ever go to the Capitol read all of the things carved in the stone walls about the Lord. God is still on our money.The congress still prays before session. The ACLU is a tool of Satan and they are always trying to stir up trouble.Be thankful for the Christians here in the USA, we pray for you and this country every day.If we ever turn from Christianity in the US, God will turn his back on us and destroy us. I think?:
1) we all need to stop pointing fingers and putting down one another's religion of choice
2) stop pushing our own religion of choice on others.
But seems to be that most folks out there either do one of the above, or the other...or both.
That's what I think.
