My basic concerns are silence, flamability and speed. Also ease of launch.
which is better catapult or trebuchet? and why?

Your building a weapon of war here!
Noise is good. If it involves fire, then the more the better. And its got to whip round so fast that if your hands are in the way you stand a good chance of losing a finger or two. So out of the 2 I'd plump for the Trebuchet. Mainly for the aesthetics,It's a real War "Machine" ( a catapult is just a big rubber band at the end of the day)
To see it in action, truly is a sight not to be missed.
The slow build up, the tightening of the ropes. The creaking of the timbers straining under the.....................strain (help, I'm running out of adjectives here) Then finally the release. Enjoying, nay savouring that moment as all hell breaks loose.All of that stored pent up energy released in a cacophonous instant of.............. .
On second thoughts better go with the catapult, I'm getting strangely aroused here!

Ummm... They're practically the same thing. Trebuchet sounds cooler though. :)
