I've been married 20+ years and find that the quaility of "good husband" changes over the years. I had to be an active father to meet "good husband" in the child raising years, always a good listener and not try to solve the problem, of course the leak in the roof or car maintence is a listen and react mode to be the "good husband". Romance is not just physical, women require I Love You notes in the cute little nooks and cornors of life, to be the "good husband". Flowers work well, just because, not just as a make-up. Most important is to worry about me and learn more about myself and the relationship of marriage will come naturally if both man and women got into this relationship with LOVE, of self and other, that makes for a "good husband AND wife". This is just the tip of the realationship stuff you know.

My husband is the Poster Man for Good Husbands. He's dedicated to his wife, his (four) children, his career.(He's a Sargeant in the United States Army) . In our thirteen years of marriage he's never went out once with "the boys". He doesn't drink, go to parties, spend every weekend at home with his family going on outtings or camping, he cooks, cleans, do laundry, yard work. A great dad, spends lots of quality time with his kids, helps with homework, teaches them games, discipline them with tough love. A great husband. Spoils me to know end. Don't complain when I spend money, in fact says I deserves to. A great lover, caregiver, listener. He calls me on the phone everthing just to say he loves me and to thank me for being such a good wife. He compliments me all the time and tells me how beautiful I am and the way he looks at me no matter where we all is hypnotising. There is no doubt love is in those eyes. He holds my hand where-ever we go, open doors for me, never let me bring the groceries in the house after shopping,Is constantly wispering sweet nothings in my ear rather we are at Walmart or at the home. I can go on for pages. Even my family loves him and I have two sisters and four brothers with wives and children. And not only has he inner character and great morals and values, he's also very handsome. And looks sexy even when he's asleep. ( I love desturbing him in his sleep) lol. We have a 20 year old, she's always shoeing us out of her eye sight she's pretends she's embarrassed to see us kissing. She should be used to it now. He and I met when she was 7. He loved her from the first day as if she were his own and she's always bragging about what a great dad she has. We have a good solid home life. We also have a 3, 9 and 11 year old. Believe it or not, punishment for them is to put them out of the house. They hate going outside. Yet our front door should have a turnstyle from all the kids coming to play or sleep over for the weekend. I keep my house pretty tidy and I am a great cook so we have lots of adult company here as well. In short. Life is darn good.

A good husband is faithful [meaning he doesn't do anything to cheat or give his wife suspicion] and treats his wife with respect and understanding.

Someone who mutually respects each other.
Someone who trust me to trust him.
Someone whom I can communicate just about anything under the sun.
Someone who cares that I care for him.
Someone who provide for the family sincerely.
Someone who can be honest with each other without being judgemental.
Someone who accept each other for who we are.
Someone who believe that me and him are soulmates to each other and not to anyone else.

Hmmm.... thanks for asking this question. The above are just my wishful thinking. Reality is sad for me now. But who knows, I may finally meet this guy... : )
