It is possible that it is a sign of an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. Be sure to alert your doctor. This was my first and only symptom. First, the doctor will take a blood sample to get a baseline for your hormone levels. Then, 2 days later, they will do it again to see if your pregnancy hormones are going up at the rate they should. If it's an ectopic pregnancy, generally they won't be. Good luck. I had one of these and now I have four healthy kids. Keep your chin up!

Okay, these people are insane. I just read their answers after i posted.

They all need to breathe. Its because you said "ovulation pain". If it were an tubal pregnancy you would have INTENSE pain on ONE side, not aches on both. HOly crap. lol.

Its not your actual ovaries that are hurting, its the ligaments and muscles and your uterus that hurt. Theyre all growing and stretching.

also, by 9 weeks, the baby is the size of a grain of rice, so the pain caused by a tubal pregnancy at this point wouldnt be enough to cause a rupture and intense pain, in fact usually you dont even know its tubal yet... unless they did an ultrasound for some reason.

I went through the same thing from 6-10 weeks, its just your body stretching.

Your doctor will certainly run an ultrasound if you're concerned about it, but these pains on your sides are reported in most pregnancies :)

yep, totally normal. Its your uterus stretching. When you get bigger, and your uterus starts to pull out of your body (about 5-6 months) your round ligaments will start stretching. They hurt like mofos. Iam currently sitting around wincing from it. God it sucks. But they stop after a day or so.

Could be round ligament pains, streching of the uterus. Or the cyst on your ovary is bothering you. When you ovulate from an ovary, it forms a corpus lutem, cyst. If you get pregnant that month, the ovary stays bigger with the cyst on it. When you go for an ultrasound, as the tech which ovary you ovulated from the month you got pregnant. They can tell right away. As for me, it was my right side. I had some pains there around 8-9 weeks, when I was due for my period. I asked the tech if it could cause discomfort and they said yes.

Have you ever heard of ectopic pregnancy, when the egg implants in the fallopian tubes? But you probably shouldn't worry about that, since I think that would only be on one side. But you should probably see a doctor to be sure. Otherwise, pregnancy does all sorts of strange things to your body, and cramping is pretty normal, and I'm sure other people get through the first trimester with no nausea or soreness (not many, though). Good luck!

Not to scare you but these pains can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy which means the baby didn't make it all the way into the womb and is growing in your tubes. It is very important that you get into your doctor, they may choose to do an ultrasound which is a sure fire way of determining whether or not this is an ectopic pregnancy or not.

On the other hand, early in pregnancy when the uterus is starting to grow woman often feel pains sort of slight cramps (less than period cramps), which is just pains from the uterus growing to accomodate the size and growth of the baby.

Good luck and please get into the doctor ASAP.

I think this is normal. Your first couple months of pregnancy you will go through some aches and pains. Don't worry this is minor compared to the last couple of months. I had a hard time sleeping and I'm very grumpy when I don't get my rest. Also try eating raisins or apples for your constipation. Maybe this has something to do with your pains. Good luck and congrats!

I wouldn't worry too much till i speak to the doctor, it's probably just the pain of your body growing and stretching. I'd say it's nothing, I had minor pains thru my pregnancy and things were ok.
But I would see my dr to rule out ectopic pregnancy if there's a lot of pain.

Probably normal - I had all sorts of aches and pains early on - never had sore breasts - and felt I could sleep for ever! The morning sickness kicked in around week 9!

I think calling the doctor is the right thing to do. But I had the same pains when I was first pregnant and everything was fine. Best of luck! :)

If they are REALLY painful id be concerned about an ectopic pregnancy (baby is in the ovarian tubes) but it sound like your talking more like a disomfort. This could be anything from round ligament pain (which does occasionally occur this early) To indigestion. It doesnt sound like an impending miscarriage either because that feels like period pain.

Good Luck, Hope doc gets back to you soon :-)
