When I was 21, way back when legal age was 18, we would get a shot glass a go to friends houses and ring the bell and hold the shot glass and yell trick or treat. Your friends will invite you in and they will give you the candy or a shot. (Be sure to have a designated driver, Lot's of little beautiful lives at stake out there so be careful.) The next day go buy the candy you want a 75% off.

Although I know not everyone will agree with me, my opinion is, if you make the effort to dress up you deserve a treat. I think it is awesome to see adults joining their kids. It is so fun for them and the memories will be life lasting. Secondly I would rather give candy to a dressed up teenager than a child that is around 8 or older and just shows up with a bag and wears no costume. Younger than 8 I can't really blame the child because it would be the parents. But the older kids that are lazy and don't want to dress up but expect something irritates me.
I say go out and have fun, you only live once and as long as you are dressing up you deserve the candy.
Of course myself though I would much rather stay in the house where it is warmer and more cozier. I have my own little stash and don't think the blisters are worth it, but you go girl!!

We went when we were 16, and we kinda got some looks when we did. After this though, I don't remember going out anymore. I really have to agree with everyone else that this holiday holds more meaning for the youngsters. Remember how much fun you had when you were tiny? Now imagine if you're coming to take the candy from them and then the person runs out and can't give the littler ones any.
It's not wrong for you to do it by any means, but there are lots of fun parties out there that you can attend at nightclubs, friend's houses, or hotels. Heck, you could even host your own. You don't need to wait once a year to get your fav candies. There are a variety of stores that offer them at very low prices. Nickel and dime stores offer some of the 'old school' goodies as well. Hope this helps you out. =)

Yeah, Halloween is my favourite holiday (obviously) and I haven't gone trick-or-treating since I was 17 - and I got some bloody rude remarks that year, lemme tell ya! Trick-or-treating is for the little kiddies, like 13 and under. Many teenagers and young adults are employed at least part time, and I think it wouldn't break your bank to buy a bulk box of assorted mini chocolate bars.

In all honesty, I think after the age of 15 it is too old. The spirit of the holiday was to keep tricksters from doing harm. And lets face it, a party for "of age" adults would be more fun than going and taking the fun from little kids who only have so much time (and patience) to be out on a school night.
Perhaps, you can dress up and stay home and give out candy. And dont forget to buy a bag for yourself! =)

I think that age 12 should be the cut off for trick or treating - I ABSOLUTELY think it is wrong for a 21 year old to go - no matter how small you are. I agree with the others who said "get a job, buy your own candy".
Now.... if you have a small niece or nephew you could offer to take him or her trick or treating .... but you'd have to share their candy with them!!!

I think its a good time to walk around and say hi to your neighbours. There isn't too many neighbourhood things left anymore. I hate this new trend of kids trick and tricking in the mall. That is no fun.

Hi; I let my kids trick or treat through about the 6th grade. Once they were 12, I told them they were too old. The schools always had parties for them anyway. Buy some candy if you want some, that way you can get exactly what you like.

No more when you are in High School. Even if you chaperon younger ones on this outing...you should not accept treats. There is always enough candy to share when you get home. If you don't chaperon, dress up and answer the door. Young kids love this....don't go scary, you want the little ones to have fun. Buy yourself an extra bag of chocolate....that's your treat.
