This is kind of a silly question to be frank. How long do you think that movie would be. I'd say it would be about 35 hours long, and that's IF they left out the books of Habbakuk and Obadiah.
As to the rating, again that depends on which books were included. It would easily be an R if the Song of Solomon was included.....unless they just filmed an old man reciting it. But that would be boring.

If you want to cover the entire bible, the topic is wayyyy too much to be handled in one movie. Of course, there have been plenty of biblically themed movies. "The ten commandments" comes to mind.
You might be able to do it in the form of a TV miniseries (or maxiseries, really). However, there are long stretches of the bible that don't make for very good television - for example, all those long strings of "begats" in the genealogies.
If it were a movie, and they showed all the events in full detail, it would surely be rated NC-17. There's some pretty explicit sexual stuff in parts of the bible. You could cut it down to R, or even PG-13, but you'd have to leave some stuff out.

Actually there was a couple of comedies. The history of the world parts one and two.
But to make a movie based on the bible from Genesis to the end of times would take years to film and it couldn't be done in one sitting. It would have to be many parts released over the years. If you read the bible and know its contents it would be a R rating.

I think it's most likely because every religion has different beliefs about the Bible. See, when they came out with The Passion of the Christ, they knew they would have a lot of people because almost every Christ based religion centers around the crucifiction of Christ. However, that's about it. When making a movie you have to take into consideration the audience you're trying to hit. When that audience is so small because of all the different beliefs, though, who is going to want to spend that much $ and not earn it all back???

There are tons of movies based on the Bible. They do not make one that covers the entire thing because it would take days to watch the thing. Think about your questions, man. Come on. And with all the sex and blood and back-stabbing going on in there? R. Way R.

Well, let me see...
To many characters in the story.
To much begatting and begetting.
Torture of one of the principal characters is rather extreme for most publishing houses.
Nothing to exciting about wandering in the desert for fourty years.
The movie set would be far to complicated to construct.
Total lack of violent auto crashes and explosions will turn off many movie goers (action hounds).
Few examples of mystery and intrigue.
Primary story line is copyrighted by an outfit in Rome.
Recent torture and nudism in Afghan Prisons didn't air to well.

the two books suck the two. they have the main poorly finished, susceptible, shape-shifting plots and the 1st a million/2 of the e book is thoroughly pointless information via the tip of it. to not point out it fairly is packed with holes, the protagonist in many cases alterations into the antagonist and it fairly is crammed archaic misogyny and prejudice.

Because there would be so many plot holes and contradictions that not even the director could make sense of it after rewriting it himself.
Besides that, the trend in movies this year is to base them on real events, not drug induced fairytales like religion....
