And comes from afar? Although not in entire forgetfulness, and not in utter nakedness. But do we come trailing clouds of glory?

Apologies to William Wordsworth, whose poem, Ode on Intimations of immortality Recollected from Early Childhood, I have paraphased to ask my question

I recently came up with this amazing site, explaining the meaning of our existence . It tells us that, we existed, as spiritual beings with God, even before we came into this world. And everything that we have in this life is self chosen by us. Every individual that we meet here, were our co-companions in that spiritual realm. We are here to purge or strengthen our soul, by experiencing everything that is human.

The site gives us some amazing testimonies given by people who had undergone Near Death Experiences. And this is what they had found out in their short encounter with eternity or after life. I found it amazing and it confirmed my belief in rebirths and reincarnations. Its a bit too lengthy, but its worth reading.

I remember everything. My soul was in the heavens, with the stars and my body lay on the ground and the light above was not for me at that time, so hence I came and waited for birth, only to have my bottom slapped and my heart broken by those who should have protected me from the doctors hand.

the view you suggest is Platonism (and Wordsworth is full of Platonic ideas). But unfortunately, with all due respect to Plato, it is much more likely that we are just born with a particular brain, structured in a particular way, capable of a limited (though amazing) amount of knowledge.

You are correct. We come trailing clouds of glory.
We have an innate knowing, but no memory..... there is a deliberate reason for this condition, and it can be changed.
We can wake up and remember.
Yes , we come from afar.

Why not ?

It is more proable that such a thing is true compared to the probability of it being untrue.
