Bondable basically means whether or not you have any sort of significant criminal past - whether or not you can be bonded.
Bonding is basically insurance through a third party. They investigate your background and decide whether or not you pose a criminal risk. If they decide you do not, they promise to pay your employer should you ever do something criminal that costs them money.
Bonding is usually required for positions where you'll handle money or have access to very sensitive information. However, even some low-level jobs require bonding such as a cleaning person. If you are going to clean a deserted office in the middle of the night, you will have access to computers, phones, files, etc.

Bondable means can the company buy a bond on you, from an insurance company, in case you do something wrong! So the background checks go into that but it's not that simple!
