Enough of apology for freedom of speech and expression?

Isn't time now the all western countries should unite and have one voice to fight against this Islamic
terrorism. And for god's sake stop being aplogetic towards muslim world all the time.
Enough of saying sorry for what Pope has said. Everybody has the freedom to read and quote anything from some ancient book and thats what
the Pope had done. And he apolozised for Muslim sentiments getting hurt what he Quoted out of that book .
Islamists have made a habbit now to control free speach of western countries like Danish cartoons,murder of Danish filmmaker and now Pope's
quote. Pope did not say it was his lines and made it clear it was taken from an ancient text.
Why Muslims do not get similarly agitated when thousands of innocent muslims are getting and gotten killed as genocide by Islamic terrorists in many countries??

I have not seen Muslims getting similarly agitated when :
1) When more than 200,00 Sudanese muslims killed by Janjaweed militia of Sudan supported by Arab money.
2) When Saddam killed more than 500,000 people during his tenure lasting more than 30 years.
3) When Islamic terrorists killed more than 50,000 Hindus as genocide in Kashmir since
last 30 years of terrorism in that region, and still killing.
4) When Iran;s leaders tell the muslim world to exterminate Jews from Israel.
5) When more than 15,000 Iraqi civilians have died after Saddam is gone in their civil war.
6) An Italian nun shot dead in Somalia.
7) Never seen a single Muslim country come against a bad guy like Hizbollah or Islamic Jihad, Hamas,etc and
doing things like kidnappings, etc.
8)Various Muslim religious leaders say hateful things against non-muslims all the time, others do not react violently.
And for all this western countries are not responsible. It's time western countries should rethink!!

I agree...but sinse the Muslims can't seem to rid themselves of the irratics amonst them....they will always be labled as "extremists" They must purge out the radicals and nuts beore their reputation can appear to support legitimacy. This takes real leadership and I see no one emerging to do this.

You made a excellent point, but the sad facts are, as the first reply you received shows, ignorant, spinless weenies who don't know **** from shoe polish. We have too many excuse makers in this country with their perverted thoughts and I am sure not many of these whiners even know what a ballot box looks like.

Muslim communities DO speak out against any and all killings of innocents. They are rarely covered by the media to sway public opinion and create attitudes such as yours. The pope can say whatever he decides to say. He should, as a religious leader though, preach peace and not hatred. There was a political agenda behind his speech and that was wrong. It is not a huge issue as some are making of it though. I couldn't care less what the pope says. He should just know better.

there is a huge difference between free speach and irresponcible speech ... the fact that world is not united to fight the so called " Islamic terrors " proves that there is not a reason for a fight . the fact that there is not a consensus on what Our government is doing proves that our strategy is wrong ... islamists or Muslims are ppl who are in dire need for acceptance and if we give them that , we will manage to discuss issues with them ... we are becoming extremely unfair to a faith that is growing ... and has roots .. we need to be more tolerant , and leave those who believe in different things have freedom of thought and expression .

we do no thave to go around preaching that we ar pro peace and fight those who have different mind sets and a different faith. we just need to leave them alone ... we need to stop pokeing our nose that is all .

to answer the rest of your question, well muslims did get agitated , but becuse they are not united they could not get thier voice heard and becuase there is this urge to annahlite this religion ,no one cared to jump in defence.
the fact that we did not know about islamic retalitations to old issues is related to the fact that we did not even know where iraq is , we were not interested , BUT now things are becoming in the spot light and now you can come out and pelt accusations agnist a religion you know nothing of...
