I would suggest running a spyware killer as this could be part of the problem.

I use windows defender which you can download from www.microsoft.com (windowsmarketplace.com also lists other free spy killers.

Try www.microsoft.com and select microsoft update to make sure you are up to date with all security updates, etc.

Have tried running defragmenter or disk cleanup from the system tools menu under accessories. These may take a while, but it may pay dividends in speeding up your PC.

Also if you have a large number of shortcuts on your desktop or a lot of programs run at start up this will also caause PC to slow down. Delete non essential shortcuts (Program will not dissappear) and save documents only to C drive or My documents and not to desktop!

Please note that restore may lose all your data (eg pictures e-mails etc) unless you know what you are doing.

Download a program called cacheman- its free and helps speed up your computer, especially if you don't have a lot of ram. Also download either spybot search and destroy or adaware-both have free versions-and remove any spyware that may be slowing your computer down.
