I would call your son's doctor and let him know what is going on he could tell you what is going on with your son!

There is more to this than just being scared. He is scared for a reason, and he might not want to talk to you about it. He could be ashamed or embarrassed. Please take him to his doctor or schedule an appointment with a child counselor. If you can't get tot the bottom of this he is going to continue to have panic attacks. He really needs someone to help him conquer this fear. Living with panic attacks myself, trust me, they are real and very scary for him. If something has happened to him at school, then he will start failing because he will constantly be worried about whatever happened. Maybe you could go to the school and talk with the counselor there. If there is a problem with his class or teacher, then request he be moved to another class. That is his right, and if they don't move him, then they are violating his right to education. Good Luck

your flags are up for a reason. Your son is acting out because something traumatic is going on. Whether its bullying or not, you must not delay in helping him. IF it makes him feel better take him out of school for the day and have a serious heart to heart with him.

Doesnt sound like a stage to me

martha111,
sorry you're boy is unhappy
you're son needs to talk with you
(and not a quick chat in the car on the way to the bus)
boys are very hard to talk with
because they hold back their problems
until they feel emotionally secure

something happened
to him
or he saw/heard something
on the bus or in school
or, even at home
that is very upsetting to him
(many times it's just something he misinterprets)

he needs to talk about it
with you

please make the time
to take care of this
and don't just
wait it out until he "gets over it"

yes, his "panic attacks" will
diminish/go away
as he learns to
submerse them

but, he'll be stronger and healthier
if you teach him that
1) you are available emotionally
2) talking out his problems is the fastest way to solve them

Look into it more carefully... Maybe he is being bullied at school and is affraid to go there and is affraid to say anything... There must be something that has caused him to react this way. You should talk to him first and see what is bothering him. The behavior must be brought on by something that he is scared of, or maybe the teacher is "mean" to him which is causing him to react

Talk with him. Find out what's going on. IS someone bullying him? Did a teacher embarrass him in front of others? Be a detective.

Maybe homework is too hard? Maybe he is getting bullied? Someone or something is making him not want to go. Sit him down and ask him, as nice as you can, what's wrong? Tell him it's important for you to know... cos it is.

Something more is happening here and I suspect he is being bullied. You need to investigate it much more closely and put a stop to it pronto. Some children have committed suicide over bullying so it is a serioous matter and he seems to be terrified of something. Hope he will be ok.
