The speed limit had just changed by ten miles an hour (they love to clock in places like that) and I had just gotten through saying "Whoa, slow down Misty, you're doing 60 in a 45" when I saw the lovely flashing lights. When the officer came up to the window and I rolled it down, my daughter said, very loudly, "My mom's got a lead foot"

I had both of my kids with me. They freaked out a little bit, but once they realized that the cop wasn't going to haul me off like they had seen in the movies, it was all funny. Mommy got a ticket for driving fast. At least for a while they would keep me in check about how fast I was going.

Yes. Speeding ticket, of all things, and I had no idea I was "speeding". We were moving with traffic and when he pulled behind me and turned on his lights, I moved over so he could go by. No such luck. I had sprung a speed trap.
My son was very calm and only talked to me. I told him what was going on after the police told me what the charge was. Since he was in the back seat and it was dark, I don't think he could see all the things on the belt, but the light from the car behind us bothered him.
I think the officer was slightly taken aback my son was in the car. It was after 9pm (during summer) and we were headed to my parent's house to check on their cats (vacation). I rarely drive down that street, but because of our destination I made the choice - to the tune of $127.00.

Well, my son was 14 at the time, and my main concern was whether he was going to start smartmouthing the cop and get the Old Mick in real trouble! As for the gun, all me kids have seen mine; it's nothing extraordinary for them.
