I've used a lot of brands upto now but Mitsubishis never satisfied me... The one i have now is a Lancer and it produces a diesel-like sound from the engine which cannot be diagnosed by anybody.. The car stops running after driving about 50,60 kms straight and can't get started... I've seen so many Mitsubishis that have this problem.. Interior isn't made of out quality materials and too noisy.. The engine produces the 'spark" sound when the A/C is on..Engine never stayed tuned at 800rpm.. Difficult to start in the morning and needs to be reved real hard for the engine to get normal.. Everyday i discover a new problem.. I'm really fed up of this car... I've used Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Honda etc.. and they were great specially Nissan... They never let me down and the cars are of very high quality.. Who else here has bad experiences with Mitsubishi? I'd like to know the model and the type of problem you've had..

Mitsubishi (motor vehicle) was until about the end of 2005 hiding from its bigger Mitsubishi "siblings" and from outsiders the known many problems being encountered in the quality of automobiles being marketed in the USA. I don't know if you got a vehicle manufactured before the corporation was forced into revelation and quality improvement. The only problem encountered by my wife's cousin with his 2005 Mitsubishi SUV is that it obviously had come into the dealership from somewhere it had been allowed to develop rust in the wheels and in components inside the engine compartment and on the underside of the vehicle. It cost Mitsubishi some replacement of components as this was sold to my wife's cousin as a NEW vehicle and under warranty. Otherwise no problem. This is his second Mitsubishi...and probably his last....

i used to work in service for mitsubishi.they are real bad on transmissions.a lot of problems.another thing they have computer problems also.theres an idle solenoid that goes bad and burns up the computer.the newer models are better ,but still have their problems.if you own one i would go to a dealership and have the car checked for recalls.there are so many recalls on these vehicles.and if you buy an older eclipse, dont buy the one with the chrysler engine.they have alot of problems in these engines.and most models are bad to smoke ,due to bad valve seals.so be ready to spend the money there to fix this problem.hope this helps.if you plan on buying a used mitsubishi make sure you carry it to a good mechanic, and have it checked out throughly.

I know alot of the 2nd gen Eclipse's (95-99) had major transmission problems. Also the turbo's on the GS-T's and GSX's were shitty and would go out at around 50,000 miles or so with no signs before

Also alot of foreign cars are built here in America. Like alot of Mitsubishi's are built down here in Normal, IL

Personally, I dislike Mitsubishis... I just do, I don't know why. The only model I really like is the '05 Eclipse, I've heard it's pretty good.

Same exact thing with my 93 eclipse!!! Especially the starting in the morning and revving...... I think that's why so many Mits. are soo cheap out there, they are just too sensitive!
