how do i explain to my 18 year old son that its not alright to hit his girlfriend?

i may set a bad example, but theres a BIG difference between hitting your wife, and hitting your girlfriend... he hasnt earned that right like i have.

What do you mean it is not alright for your son to hit his girlfriend? If she deserves it, he has the obligation to smack the crap out of her. He should also smack her around now and then just to keep her attention.

There is no difference between you hitting your wife - which she deserves by being married to an idiot like you - and your son hitting a girlfriend because she deserves it for being with your loser son. Dumb begets dumb and obviously, both you and your son dived headfirst into the shallow end of the gene pool.

Naturally, if your question were a real question rather than just a bit to get attention and to rile folks, there should be concern. Since it was intended just to rile up some folks, it worked pretty good.

If he's hitting his girlfriend, that's abuse and he should be turned in. Then maybe that will open his eyes.

And NO woman or man deserve to get hit. Hitting your wife vs hitting the girlfriend is no different. It's STILL ABUSE.

He'll never learn if you have that way of thinking. How are you ever going to teach him when you think it's okay and you have earned the right? Good god.

Wow, real idiocy and stupidity in the 21st century. People never cease to amaze me by sinking to new low depths.

1) You explain to your son that it's not all right to hit anyone for any reason by NOT HITTING ANYONE FOR ANY REASON. Wow, how common sense is that?

2) Yep, you do set a bad example by first of all thinking you have the RIGHT to hit anyone. You do not. The right to swing your fist ends where someone else's face begins. PERIOD.

3) What you're describing is DOMESTIC ABUSE, and it's always wrong. There is no cause for abuse. Ever. Anything that's said is justification and rationalization, and it does not fly, not now, not ever. Basically you're just seeking permission to control, humiliate, terrorize, terrify, and keep someone else submissive. You don't have that right, now or ever.

4) Only small, insecure, intimidated men ever hit anyone, and it takes a real scumball jackass to hit a woman. I should know: I'm 38 years old and have never been hit in my life. Partly I've never been hit because I take a good long time to get to know people, and because I'd never DREAM of putting up with anything remotely resembling emotional abuse in the first place.

5) You need anger management and you desperately need an attitude adjustment. Please come and live in the 21st century, not in previous centuries. Get a big, heapin' helping of feminism, too, and start treating women as human beings. Then you might just start to become human, and you won't be some inadequate piece of cave-slime throwback.

What really troubles me is that there are knuckle-draggers like you out there who can actually vote and take part in our democracy. You just aren't adequate on any level of humanity because you just aren't quite human yet -- you just APPEAR huamanoid. You lack intellect, education, spirit and you are not evolved enough to be a true citizen or a complete human being if you hit women.

what both of you need is a stong woman that doesnt take your **** and beat you down the way you do to these women. The first time my ex hit me was the last time he ever hit me, he ended up with a black eye a busted lip (from me) and dropped off in my old neighborhood with a bunch of guys waiting to show him what happens when he hits women!
