still hard to believe, i mean you hear famous people die all the time but this one for some reason is really hard to stop pondering, this may sound weird but i think only those that have either seen the footage or his body can actually come to terms with it, having said that, it may be wise to release the footage. Not only that, if it's destoyed you can just imagine the conspiricy theories and cover ups we will all here soon enough, i mean even reading a lot of the media stories, a lot of it doesnt add up, first it was he took the barb out after he got out of the water "collapsing" i have never seen anyone collapse in the water! then it was him pulling it out in the water, but died later, then he died straight after pulling it out, in the water, and if the dood filming saw the tail fly up and spike him, why did he keep on filming? was he told to swim over the ray by his camera man or producer? and who is to know if he really wasn't antaganising the ray, being steve he was probably trying to kiss it? no dought it was just a freak accident, but if the public doesnt get the proof then who will really know?
Again, if it's destroyed then there is no dought many questions more will be raised and those that say otherwise will have their fingers pointed at for destroying the evidence. Especially the producer who is adamant to have the film destroyed! Not only that steve was the kinda guy who would happily show you his latest wound, as guys do, this particular one i'm not to sure though, but consider how vertually all commentry on his antics were mostly about how close he is coming to death, like a evil kanevil but with animals, and like all stunts, the public always witnessed them perishing doing what they loved to do. Sad to see him go, but for the sake of putting this to bed, for his sake and his families i say at least keep the footage on file for axcess at a later date, thats my take on it.

Hearing the news about Steve Irwin I felt devastated, he was a wonderful human being who taught many to love and respect the wild animals on this planet. His passion was strong, he was a true professional in his field, no other can compare. Losing Steve Irwin was truly a sad sad day for many around the world, I'm sure his passion for wild life will live on in his children and wife Terri. God Bless them all in their time of grief.

I was very shocked and sad. My son cried himself to sleep. I think he was a great role model for kids. He was always passionate and enthusiastic about wildlife and conservation. We loved watching his show because he made you feel as if you were right there. Up close and personal. I truly believe that he was put on this earth for what he brought to so many lives.

He was a cool cat it's a shame he lived an adventurous life and the least animal I would have ever thought would have endangered his life ended up killing him. So sad, I think his daughter will keep on the legacy of his love for animals.

I was hit soo hard, and I don't even know why. Everytime I think of it I get so sad. I think it's because I think of his beautiful kis, and his wife- yes she has been left stinking rich, but he most lonely person in the worl right now. No-one or nothing is gonna fill the place of him in her life. What a fantastic guy.

OMG I can't believe how many sheep there are in the world. The man was a tool. He took stupid risk for the sake of ratings. Sure he did good things for animals but what about his kids? They're gonna grow with the legacy
"wasnt your dad the moron who got killed by a sting ray?"
He should have given more concern to his kids than that stupid show. When you have family they come first. Simple as that. I have no sympathy for him at all!

It's really sad. In a way, though, it's kind of surprising. I always sort of expected Steve Irwin to one day be killed by a crocodile or a snake, but I never thought that he would be killed by, of all things, a stingray.

Even though I didn't know him personally I felt very sad and hurt. You think that because he is on TV that he won't get into anything too dangerous that would cause him his life. Now we see that it was all real!
