How come I can get hundreds of condoms from the health unit for free, but have to pay $5 or $6 for 10 condoms at the store?

Condoms aren't ever free. In the case of the health unit, someone is paying for them, just not you directly. If this is a public health unit, we're paying for your condoms out of our taxes. If it's a charitable organization, donors are paying for your condoms out of their contributions.

If you go to a store, you actually pay for your own protection and sexual health... what a concept!
