I bought new Clarks in the spring and I haven't worn them all that much until now that the weather is cooling off. The soles squeak something awful. It's too late to return them. I heard if you put them in the freezer they shrink and the squeak stops - it's not true, this morning you can hear me coming for miles around. It's a bit of a laugh at work. If I take them to the shoe repair...will they reglue or some such "fix"? What shall I do to lose the noise!! Any shoe repair experts out there?

The soles are rubber and the tops leather...it's not the leather tops, they're soft enough. It's the soles that squeak.

some shoe rubber soles is purely a various composite than others. and specific flooring will quite intensify the squeak... generally, the extra affordable the shoe...the extra the squeak. no longer lots you're able to do previous procuring them shoes like yours...

The shoes need to be broken in properly. Wear them a lot at home...during gardening and housework and all the jobs where you are walking a lot and even crouching (puts a lot of stress on a shoe). It sounds to me like the leather is just stiff and the only way to get it soft is wear.

Maybe try sticking a thumbtack in the sole?

Try Mink Oil.
Just rub it in using a brush or something.
I dont know if it works, I read it in a book once.

How about you just buy a new pair of shoes if it bothers you so much. A little squeaking never hurt anybody, so just ignore it.
