Is there something slightly questionable about a 'democracy' that produces father and then son as it's chief official?
Unless of course by some extraordinary coincidence they both happened to be the best man for the job at their respective times.
What is the virtue of such a system of government that throws up people like this - surely it cannot be held up to the rest of the world as the one true way?

Democracy:
1.Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives.
2.A political or social unit that has such a government.
3.The common people, considered as the primary source of political power.
4.Majority rule.
5.The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community.

The greatest weakness in any popular election form of government is that as soon as those in a position of power realize they can elect for themselves "bread & circuses", the eventual downfall of that empire is a foregone conclusion.
