Where is the most enjoyable place you have ever travelled and why? Is there a place on earth that you consider a hideaway from all the hate and intolerance in the world today? Or is there a place that you just enjoy going on holiday to every year?!

I was very impressed by Costa Rica on my visits there. It is unusual to find a general populace that is so interested in making sure you have a pleasant visit (at low cost). The country also offered a wide range of climates within short driving distance to the visitor which was certainly a break from what I found in Panama (1 climate period), Chile (drive thousands of miles for a change of climate) and Brazil (climate change accompanied by dust and poverty). Canada is an excellent choice if you do not seek sandy, sunny beaches. Some of the French restaurants there are beyond comprehension for a southern boy from the USA.

It's rather a subjective question because it depends so much on ones personal experiences while traveling. Probably the most memorable country I've visited is Myanmar (Burma). Ironically, its totalitarian regime and isolated status have created a kind of time warp back to an Asia of, perhaps 40 years ago. The kindest, most generous and compassionate people I have met; they deserve better.

Without hatred and intolerance ??? I wonder if there exists a place like that on earth now but apart from India for diversity and typical cultures (Of course, I am an Indian), Colombo (Sri Lanka) is truly chill-out place and Barcelona (Spain) is for the party clan.

My favorite place has to be Singapore. It is clean, safe, very convenient, there is a lot to do, it is pretty and the people are vrey nice. There are 4 million people on this island but most of it doesn't feel so crowded. It is the most diverse city I've been to in Asia and I loved seeing everyone mix together peacefully. It is great.

I love Singapore for cleanliness, availability of various and different types & tastes of foods, entertainment and sight-seeing (limited), cosmopolitan nature of mix of its people and English as its lingua franca.

Tourist Hotlines: Call the Singapore Tourism Board's 24-hour Touristline at 1800 736 2000 (toll free in Singapore only) or (65) 6736 2000 (outside Singapore) for tourist information.

New Zealand (south island.) It is stunningly beautiful, only has 750,000 inhabitants, you can drive on a main road for two hours and never see another car (bliss), and worldwide news isn't so prominent there so I felt less stressed by it all. It is a green minded country and best of all my brother lives there so I can visit quite cheaply...but I hope to live near him one day.

Fiji, without question. Outstanding people, outstanding scenery, fantastic weather. Plus, accomodation is still very good and very reasonable. Everyone I met was super friendly, helpful and a joy to be around.
